The Foundation of WI.SO
The consulting and research team of WI.SO DR. SCHOCH + ASSOCIATES began its activities in the summer of 1994. Economically, legally and politically independent and neutral, the institute has grown out of three decades of personal experience in consulting and demanding basic and applied research at universities and in the private sector.
Rolf B. Schoch, PhD in Economics, founder and general manager, studied economics and marketing, sociology, psychology and social psychology at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH). During and after his doctorate he acquired extensive practical experience in management consulting and as board member of a retail business firm.
With a dissertation in marketing and sociology, he was subsequently appointed lecturer, initiator and project head of the basic research program 'Diffusion and Adoption of Innovations in the Economy at the University of St. Gallen.
He was also a Visiting Post-Doctoral Research Fellow and Lecturer at Purdue University, Lafayette/Indiana and the University of California, Berkeley/California, USA.
In 1981, Dr. Schoch joined the management of the renowned Swiss Society for Applied Social Research at Zurich. Simultaneously he worked as part-time lecturer at the University of St. Gallen until 1997.
Dr. Schoch is a member of the most influential national, European and American professional economic and socio-economic Societies and Association.
